Уже достаточно давно ловлю себя на том, что все больше думаю об "артурианской" символике в образе ЖЧ. Сами создатели не раз и не два говорили о том, что на появление железного золотого рыцаря в том виде, в каком это произошло, их вдохновлял именно цикл легенд о короле Артуре и его рыцарях Круглого стола. Это очень интересный и привлекательный образ, архетип которого считывается и во внешем виде, и в поведении героя (до определенного момента, я бы сказала, но сейчас, кажется, снова к этому возвращаются). Естественно, прямой аналогии с самим Артуром тут нет (с ним пытаются сассоциировать Стива, кстати, но это фанатские домыслы), скорее с Ланселотом.

В общем, хочу больше об этом знать. Читаю Мэлори, много думаю. Нашла Платова ("В поисках Святого Грааля: Король Артур". Хочу накатать простыню, потому что идея Тони-рыцаря нравится мне несказанно. Кстати, в каноне Марвел полно отсылок к рыцарской тематике, смысловых, на символику, чисто внешних. Тони знаком с Артуром, является его поклонником; несколько раз попадал в Прошлое, даже принял участие в судьбе меча в камне.

В общем, ужасно интересно.

Посоветуйте, что культурологически-мифологического почитать на эту тему? Я знаю, что чисто художественной литературы тоже полно, но пока она не в полной мере отвечает моим пожеланиям.

• also there are some pretty intense tony/lancelot parallels. lancelot was arthur’s bEST FRIEND and he betrayed him by sleeping with guinevere. huge war ensues but arthur still forgives him and despite all the shit lancelot has ever done (more than just the guinevere thing tbh, without counting mordred lancelot is considered one of the most sinful and unholy knights) arthur still trusts him always and idk that’s very much steve and tony to me
• lancelot is one of the very few knights to find and see the holy grail. but because he is a “tainted man” he cannot ever touch it. one of the big tragedies in his life tbh because at one point finding the grail was like everyone’s dream and lancelot wasalmost there but he was not clean enough in spirit to touch it sooo. basically a story of tony and all his dreams
• even if you think about “the future” — now there’s a thing tony shapes and creates but never gets to see. he’s always concerned about what’s coming and never stops to look at the fact that the “here, right now” was yesterday’s “future”. so like he is literally working towards something he’ll never be able to catch up on. he’ll never see his dreams coming to fruition
• also MCU facts:
• in the im1 novelization by peter david, pepper compares tony to a “modern galahad”. galahad was lancelot’s son and one of the three guys who achieve the grail
• if you pay attention to the cover up story coulson made up for tony in the end of iron man 1, you’ll note that he mentions that tony should say he was in a yacht on the shores of avalon island. you could totally imply that tony owns property in the island where arthur is rumored to have chosen to rest in
• oh my god i’m always very emotional about this stuff don’t mind me

Кстати, Галахад - это не только имя сына Ланселота, но и второе имя самого Ланселота, точнее, если говорить совсем корректно, первое (из детства-юности).
Но прыжок к Галахаду-сыну мне пока нравится.

про аллюзии - в свежеиспечённом "Кингсмене" действуют шпионы экстра-класса под псевдонимами Артур, Мерлин, Ланцелот. И называют себя рыцарями.

Sinica, да, я читала в описании фильма, и такого добра, уверена, везде полно.
Меня на данный момент интересуют первоисточники (насколько это возможно, эпос я читать пока не полезу, потому что начинать лучше с чего-то более легкого и ориентированного на более широкую и неискушенную публику), так как мои познания носят характер отрывочный и путаный.

М. Стюарт Цикл о короле Артуре. Киношка еще "Король Артур" с Клайвом Оуэном - с претензией киношка, но тож сомнительно. И как-то все

hellmoore, Стюарт я начала читать, но бросила в свое время. Сейчас планирую вернуться.
Еще есть Мэлори, естественно (из художественной литературы).
Еще я нашла "Истории королей Британии", "Триады острова Британия"
Из исследователей мне пока глянулся Платов, который пишет про более древние мотивы в легенды "граалиады", что весьма интересно.
Еще я как-то опять на Проппа вышла через это все. %) Я у него читала уже "Морфологию...", теперь почитаю "Исторические корни", они обещают быть более публицистическими и интересными.
И наверняка BBC или еще кто всякие фильмы наснимали, не художественные, а с обзором легенд и исторических предпосылок. Но это я еще вообще не смотрела.

hellmoore, да, Вики в этом вопросе очень помогает. Хотя бы сориентироваться в общих чертах, а там уже будет понятнее, куда бежать.
Я нашла хорошую книгу, но нигде не могу отыскать ее в электронном виде.
